Ease Of Use – Check if the unit is anything but difficult to setup and work. A few units are a breeze to gather, and you should simply to take after the manual of guidelines that accompany it. And after that, you ought to likewise discover how to work the grill and it ought to offer you easily of operation. For the most items I have evaluated here, they can be worked with the push of a catch, so they will let you simply set the clock and temperature and forget about it.
Packaging was good inside and out. All parts were secured to prevent damage and we liked the colorful graphics on the hopper and under the hood that explained how a pellet smoker works for a first time user. When the 820 was almost fully assembled, we noticed an unused bag of washers that were not mentioned in the assembly instructions except in the parts list. After being on hold with customer service for ten minutes, we were advised to unscrew everything and refasten all parts adding the washers to the screw and lock nut assemblies.
When thoughts of the summer season pop into your head, what picture comes to mind? Summer always bring thoughts of lazy days by the pool, with a cold drink in hand and some meat grilling away in the backyard. The guys here at Grills Forever are definitely big grill fans, and we have made it our job to check out every brand and model of commercial grills possible. We all agree that one of the trusted brand names in terms of grills is Pit Boss.

This piece of junk did not work when I received it fresh out of the box & now it's broke again!!! What a waste of money! First issue was a temp control module board, which the manufacturer actually sent me directly & I had to install it. Now after about 6 months of using it approximately 12-14 times, it won't even power up. I don't even want to attempt to fix it again!! I am going to spend the extra money & buy a Traeger!!

With 341 square inches of cooking space and a digital control board that sets the temperature from 180 to 500 degrees, you’ll be cooking whole meals in this grill, even though it’s the smallest model that Pit Boss makes. It will hold up to a dozen burgers for parties, or a chicken and vegetables for the family dinner. When cooking is done, the porcelain coated grill grates are easy to clean.
When it comes to construction, few companies can beat Traeger. Its grills come with construction features like cast-iron grates with a clear and nontoxic coating that prevents food from sticking to the grill and fireboxes made from a similar material. Though Pit Boss grills feature similar elements, many look flimsy, and most will not keep up with your grilling and smoking demands.
Awesome!.. clean, keeps temps, smokes like a boss (: 1st cookout was a 12lb pork butt, 24 brats, 12 hamburgers and 8 chicken thighs. Smoked the butt for 4 hours and wrapped. Kept it in for 6 hours at 250. It was a party favorite. I've never had a grill I could leave unattended for any length of time besides my electric smoker, and the flavor from the pitboss most definitely proves to be Superior. Thanks for the awesome setup guys!
I sincerely hope that you and rj009 are correct and that this is an affordable pellet grill that will last for many, many years. However, until I see the real world longevity data, or an indication from Danson that they are willing to stand behind their products, then I am going to keep pointing folks to Green Mountain (2 year warranty), Camp Chef (3 year warranty) and Rec Tec (6 year warranty).

In this manner, pick a unit that can meet your size necessities in light of its cooking territory. But, who cares about all that!? How does it cook? I knew pellet grills could deliver the flavor based on my buddies’ samples. And they told me how easy it was, but I really didn’t believe it until I threw 4 split breasts and a rack of ribs on my Pit Boss for her maiden voyage. I LITERALLY did nothing, but my usual rubs and putting them on. After 2 hours on the chicken and 3 on the rib rack (Baby Back) at around 300 (then foil wrapped the rib for another half hour), I had PURE perfection. Every breast was evenly cooked according to size- and I never touched them (on my gas grill I have to constantly shuffle everything around for even the dream of even cooking (and pray for no flare-ups). I never had to flip either and the temperature was 160 top to bottom on the breasts when I pulled them. I have been cooking split breasts for 30 years…these were the best I have ever done- and all I had to do was drink beer. The ribs were smokey and had a REAL smoke ring. They didn’t “fall off the bone”, but just pulled away perfectly. SO good… honestly, this feels like cheating!
