Although these are marketed as grills, they do much more, including baking or roasting. Because they heat by convection, you might not get the grill marks that a gas or charcoal grill will give you, but you also won’t have the flame-up problems. While many pellet grills offer high cooking temperatures, the maximum depends on ambient temperature and wind. Many users wrap their grills in special insulating covers to help maintain heat, reduce fuel use, and reach the higher temperatures they desire.
***Six month update.... LOVE this pit. Can't say how much it has changed the way I cook. I initially bought it for the occasional times I want to smoke big meats... brisket, pork butt, ribs, pork belly, etc., and it is AWESOME for that. Totally "set it and forget it." But, it has completely replaced my $4000 Cal Flame gas "outdoor kitchen" for EVERYTHING. Burgers, chicken breasts/thighs/wings/etc, pork chops, steaks, veggies, pineapple...OK you get the point. I literally have not turned on my Cal-Flame since I purchased it. Our new favorite thing is buying cheap frozen pizzas and lasagna and making them taste like they were fired in a brick oven- without heating up the kitchen in our hot Texas summer months. Below is my original review, modified in a few spots where I have gained some knowledge and added some ***notes.... and, yes, I did use this for the graduation party mentioned below, and yes... it was perfection. I have been asked to cater similar events.
The unit arrived in perfect condition and was remarkably simple and intuitive to put together. It is actually harder to unpack than assemble! It took me about two hours, just taking my time with no help. One of the smart, presumably computer aided design elements is that the legs are ambidextrous, and the legs and bottom tray use the same hardware- so you don’t spend an hour trying to figure out right leg/left leg and sorting out 60 screws and washers. The handle and lid stop already have the hardware screwed in, so no brainer there either. After putting this together once, I could unpack and assemble another in less than an hour. The instructions are extremely well written- no weird “Chinese to American” translation issues whatsoever. The guide is poignant, and actually humorous at times.

Buckle up - your backyard barbecue experience just got more delicious. Wood pellet grills operate much like a smoker and traditional grill combined, but many offer a number of other cooking options to choose from. When your cooking repertoire is broad and your guests love each and every one of your recipes, you'll love having the freedom to bake pizzas, sear steak and more with a single outdoor appliance on your patio.
I started by boiling the potatoes on the gas grill while giving the chicken a quick sear on the charcoal grill to lock in the moisture. Then I transferred the chicken to the smoker to finish it because I like the smoky flavor, but more importantly, because the wood pellet grill cooks more evenly and isn’t prone to hot spots or flare ups. While the chicken was smoking and the potatoes were boiling, I started the pesto and then put the potatoes on the gas grill for a crispy finish. I may never eat potato salad any other way!
This is a completely modern retake on an ancient Asian cooking vessel. With this contraption, you have the benefits of the old and the new. This grill is incredibly versatile and with the addition of the extra stainless-steel grate, your options are completely maximized. The stylish look of this grill, coupled with the beautiful bamboo shelves, make this grill not only visually perfect but functionally great. Overall, this is definitely a grill you can trust, after all, it wouldn’t have lasted thousands of years if it wasn’t amazing.
Pit Boss vs. Traeger comparison is more than just complicated to deduce and explain, due to the fact both brands are basically similar. However, the main differences include design, which is better with Pitt Boss and the available models. Here we can also see that Pit Boss is in the leadership. Also, they are more complicated to use and they are more expensive.
This pellet smoker grill met 14 out of our 32 criteria when we used our checklist. Although 14 isn’t an exceptionally high score, the features that it did meet were the ones that were tied the most to customer satisfaction, encouraging us to look into the grill a little further. When the Grills Forever team did, we weren’t left disappointed! The smoker grill has one of the largest cooking grid sizes available today! The body of the grill itself is of high quality and is completely insulated, making it very efficient. The wide temperature range reaches a considerable height. However, the grill is remarkably durable and well prepared so you can rest assured of your safety. The porcelain-coated grates are also very easy to clean and conduct heat very well; lying underneath are the high-quality burners which are controlled through an automated system, meaning you can kick back and relax.
This is a well-known brand so chances are high that you have owned or you own one right now. Basically, this is the best choice when it comes to home-based usages. These grills are great for home parties, for grilling in the backyard and etc. You will definitely going to enjoy using them. They are also simpler to use than the first brand here, so this is an advantage.
Loving my first pellet bit boss grill. But I did do a few modifications on it . I added LAVA LOCK GASKET to the door so I wouldn't lose smoke and heat and I also added a spring latch to help seal everything. And last thing I added was a bottle opener lol.. I must say this is a nice piece of equipment.. add working like a champ. I would of gave 5 stars but I had to and a few mods.
