The Pit Boss Grills 340 Wood Pellet Grill is a great grill with dial-in digital control and led read-out. Pellets are 100% natural hardwood. This grill has got an automatic start and cool down. It’s heavy duty with 16 gauge steel construction. It’s easy to assemble. It’s a little expensive. However, other grills are more expensive and seeing that I would recommend this to anyone.
Deluxe models have a unique arched drip plate, (above), which is found on many Louisiana smokers. Attempting to create a hot sear zone, a small plate is used to slide over openings in the larger arched plate to open or close direct exposure to the flaming firepot. The idea of exposing foods to the fire pot is used by several brands of pellet smokers. Generally it doesn't work well because the firepot flame is just too small to do much searing. Pit Boss is no exception. We placed a flight of chicken wings over the open slider, flipping occasionally while taking care not to move them from their original positions. As expected, only the few wings directly over the flame were seared,(below). The slider design dictates the absence of a flame diffuser over the firepot and one is not included with Deluxe models.

Four-way venting means it's easy to set up for two zone cooking with more control than single vent Kamado grills. It is much easier to set up for 2-zone cooking than any round kamado. This grill produces fall off the bone ribs. I've also cooked a brisket to perfection. My only issue is that I have to clean it after every use. If it isn't cleaned properly (I remove all of the grates and use a shop vac to suction all ashes and unburned pellets) the pellets will back up and when they finally push through, you will have a huge flare up that will potentially burn whatever you are cooking as well as take the paint off the grill itself. Also, I find it works better if you set the dial to OFF and then back to whatever temperature you want. Other than those few quirks, I love this grill. I did find a larger Pit Boss after I bought this one, but it was about $150 more.
This grill has a very wide temperature range, allowing you to grill between 150-700F; a huge leap. The digitally controlled burner system ensures that you’re in full control of temperature changes, this adds an air of both convenience and safety that we feel customers would find very helpful. One small sacrifice to make with this wonderful grill is the cooking space. It is slightly smaller than average; but unless you’re planning on cooking for a huge team of people, it’s more than manageable. You could even argue the smaller cooking space to be more practical; as you’re left with less fuel to use, and less mess to clean.

I just love this smoker/grill! I use it at least twice a week. I’ve made great pizza’s (on my Pit Boss Pizza Stone) The first one I ordered was delivered, and was broken. I called Pit Boss, and they replaced it right away, without any hassle! That’s good customer service! I love the fact that they carry so many natural flavored wood pellets. I use the apple wood pellets for ribs, the Hickory for steaks and chicken, and the competition blend for grilling burgers, salmon, etc. My friends are always impressed by the quality, I mean, this thing is a flavor machine! I’ve read a few negative reviews, but I have not had any problem with this machine. All you have to do is keep it clean, and it performs like a champ! I am very satisfied with this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting a new grill or smoker. Sincerely, Happy Pallet in Venice, Florida!
Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping the grill clean is critical if you need to get the most out of the unit. Old debris can influence the viability of the unit thus normal cleaning is vital. In addition, while moving it around, take alert not to thump it since it accompanies little legs which can without much of a stretch tip over the unit when thumped.
Accurate Temperature Control: The Davy Crockett has better temperature control that permits us to program a great deal more correct temperatures (one-degree changes possible) using their application (the control board permits us to alter temperatures 5 degrees at any given moment). It uses a PID controller […] controller to expect and fine micromanage the temperature by controlling the wood screw speed and the fan speed.
After only two weeks the auger jammed and quit turning. I stored the grill under a cover and had it under the eaves of my house. When I contacted Pit Boss customer service they said, "Even with a cover and being under the eaves, the pellets will still pull moisture out of the air. When those pellets get wet they can swell, and prevent the auger from turning." They included two pdf documents on how to disassemble the grill to include disconnecting wiring and circuit boards. If every time it rains, I'm going to clean out the auger, no thank you. No where in the instruction booklet does it say anything about not storing pellets in the hopper or it will clog the auger and will you have to spend the next week disassembling your grill.

This is a completely modern retake on an ancient Asian cooking vessel. With this contraption, you have the benefits of the old and the new. This grill is incredibly versatile and with the addition of the extra stainless-steel grate, your options are completely maximized. The stylish look of this grill, coupled with the beautiful bamboo shelves, make this grill not only visually perfect but functionally great. Overall, this is definitely a grill you can trust, after all, it wouldn’t have lasted thousands of years if it wasn’t amazing.
This grill is just small enough to pack away in a bag and prop up ready for use with its folding legs. The hood can also latch on separately so you can pack things away in the most efficient way possible. The dome thermometer is clear and easy to read, and with just the click of a button the grill will flare up, ready for use. The grill has 2 10,000 BTU burners which you can control independently; you can optimize your cooking platform to cook things completely differently on the same space.
Among all of Pit Boss’ gas grills, this unit has an impressive review frequency – meaning a lot of those who bought it were definitely satisfied with this grill. It has four racks – all porcelain-coated, making it very spacious and easy to clean, a separate chamber for wood chips so you can easily refuel without disrupting the smoking procedure, and a viewing window on the door to let you see just how well the cooking is proceeding without opening the cooking chamber. This grill uses dual burners for uniform cooking, and has a temperature range of 100 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Best of all, this grill is unbelievably priced at under $200 – which definitely makes it quite a steal!

There's something about wood and wood chip grills that gas and electric grills just can't replace. They can provide that little extra flavor or pop that only wood-smoking and grilling can provide. Unfortunately, that also means wood chip grills can be a little more on the expensive side. Thankfully, Walmart has just the deal if you want the kind of quality barbecue you'd find from some great joints at home.
Camp Chef have been a notable and solid producer of grills for some time now, and have earned their position in the market, with straightforward, yet proficient outlines, which offer purchasers great outcomes. They had stated, prior to release, that the PG24 Pellet Grill and Smoker, would give clients brilliant elements and a high level of usefulness, with exact temperature readings, and I needed to see whether this genuine. This Camp Chef PG24 Review expects to give purchasers all the data they have to settle on an educated purchasing choice.
With an available cooking space of 700 sq ft you can expect to serve up to 6 people with just one round of cooking. It’s therefore perfect for batch cooks, or even just for a family meal. To improve this even further, the cooking space is constructed from high quality cast iron; meaning you’ll get all the extra benefits of cooking with iron without the expense! The total shipping weight for the item is 184lbs which is expected for an item of this quality and type. Although most of the grill is pre-assembled, there is a little bit of assembly involved so that’s worth bearing in mind.
The unit arrived in perfect condition and was remarkably simple and intuitive to put together. It is actually harder to unpack than assemble! It took me about two hours, just taking my time with no help. One of the smart, presumably computer aided design elements is that the legs are ambidextrous, and the legs and bottom tray use the same hardware- so you don’t spend an hour trying to figure out right leg/left leg and sorting out 60 screws and washers. The handle and lid stop already have the hardware screwed in, so no brainer there either. After putting this together once, I could unpack and assemble another in less than an hour. The instructions are extremely well written- no weird “Chinese to American” translation issues whatsoever. The guide is poignant, and actually humorous at times.
