I sincerely hope that you and rj009 are correct and that this is an affordable pellet grill that will last for many, many years. However, until I see the real world longevity data, or an indication from Danson that they are willing to stand behind their products, then I am going to keep pointing folks to Green Mountain (2 year warranty), Camp Chef (3 year warranty) and Rec Tec (6 year warranty).

Take your grilling craft to the next level with the Pit Boss Grill 440D Wood Pellet Grill. This innovative grill is powered by 100% natural wood pellets leaving all of the cuisines you create with a real wood-fire flavor for the entire family to enjoy. The 440 square-inch cooking area, provides a spacious amount of space for an ample amount of food, and the 100 square-inch porcelain coated steel removable upper cooking rack supplies even more space to cook up your favorite meals. Fire up the grill fill the hopper with all natural barbecue wood pellets, set the desired cooking temperature, and start grilling you next professional-grade meal from 180-degrees to 500-degrees.
Remember the checklist I said we created? Well, this product managed to score 15 of the best of the best qualities, including stainless steel burner and dual valve system, porcelain coated grids, grease tray and wood chip drawer with external access, and large window with high temp. door seal. Despite it not ticking every single, possible box, this grill managed to score in the ones that customers valued the most, and this is what drove us towards placing it in the first place. Also, the price of this model is ridiculously reasonable – at under 200 USD this top branded grill is one of the lowest priced models for a gas grill; how amazing is that?
Operation of your Pit Boss Deluxe Wood Pellet Grill is easy. Simply load the pellet hopper with your favourite all-natural hardwood pellets and turn the dial to your desired pre-set temperature. Within minutes, the grill automatically lights the pellets, and adjusts itself to your desired cooking temperature between 180° to 500°F. The grill can maintain that temperature all day, granted there’s always pellets. It’s that easy. Experience real wood-fired flavor with Pit Boss.
As far as clean-up goes, in my opinion, it is significantly easier to clean a pellet grill as apposed to like a traditional gas or charcoal option. On the Pit Boss options remove the grill grates, and then use a vacuum and the hose attachment to suck up the pellet dust, and clear the burner. The burner can sometimes get clogged so clearing that with the vacuum works nicely. After that it’s just a matter of grabbing a rag and wiping the grease from the grill.
So if I am going to take a pass on the Pit Boss then why not get a Traeger?  A lot of folks are introduced to this brand through the infomercials for the Traeger Renegade Elite.  And while the Elite and other models like the Tailgater are fine cookers I am not going to recommend a Traeger for the exact same reason that you are thinking about a Pit Boss.

Preparing this Top 5 List was no easy task. Pit Boss products are exceptional, and to really hone exactly what makes a perfect grill from their range, we had to determine 32 different ideal grill qualities. Some of these qualities were things specifically mentioned by Pit Boss in product descriptions, other qualities are ones established as vital to consumers through our in-depth customer feedback research.
This is definitely an interesting brand to consider. They make some of the best, big-size grills available on the market and they are more than just professional. Yes, all models use pellets, which is actually a positive side. In the Pit Boss vs. Traeger comparison, we must add that they are based on the same technology, but there are some differences.
Wattage – With the right amount of wattage by your side, you will easily reach the temperature required, and it will stay there provided that you are providing enough pellets for it to make use of. Anything north of 1200W will easily be able to cover all your requirements, but as a rule, it’s ideal to be sheltered than sorry, so it can’t hurt to purchase a unit with a bigger Wattage than you might suspect you’ll require.

The 820 Series offers two tiers of porcelain-coated grid construction, totaling 820 sq. inches of cooking surface, allowing you to skillfully prepare food with savory natural hardwood flavor. The Fan-forced convection can bake anything that you would normally bake in your oven. A pellet grill is hands-down the best wood-fired pizza oven that is available. Even smoke your holiday turkey!
This grill is simply amazing. Many people told me to get the Trager and I honestly was about too. But my wife wouldn’t sign off on spending 700 bucks. And rightfully so. So I did some more research and found Pit Boss! This is solid, it feel nice, heavy closing lid, great hopper feed, and no issues so far. I’ve read that many people have some inconsistencies in their temps but it’s mostly to do with how they operate. If you switch back and forth between multiple temps, it will automatically feed wood to the fire for 2.5 mins and cause a spike in smoke or temp. So to avoid this when you are switch from smoke to a higher temp, move your meat to the upper shelf.
Loving my first pellet bit boss grill. But I did do a few modifications on it . I added LAVA LOCK GASKET to the door so I wouldn't lose smoke and heat and I also added a spring latch to help seal everything. And last thing I added was a bottle opener lol.. I must say this is a nice piece of equipment.. add working like a champ. I would of gave 5 stars but I had to and a few mods.
