I have done everything from searing steaks to smoking brisket, Overall the quality is ok. But.... 1. It has a hard time holding lower temps, if I set the temp to 200 it will go to 275 then slowly go back to 200 then shoot back up again. 2. The heat deflector and and the tabs that hold it are are made from a low quality steel and are literally falling apart due to scaling. Other than those two complaints the grill is not bad for the price. I do not expect my grill to last much longer because of the tabs that hold the heat deflector are about to snap off, once that happens the grill is useless.
