This grill produces fall off the bone ribs. I've also cooked a brisket to perfection. My only issue is that I have to clean it after every use. If it isn't cleaned properly (I remove all of the grates and use a shop vac to suction all ashes and unburned pellets) the pellets will back up and when they finally push through, you will have a huge flare up that will potentially burn whatever you are cooking as well as take the paint off the grill itself. Also, I find it works better if you set the dial to OFF and then back to whatever temperature you want. Other than those few quirks, I love this grill. I did find a larger Pit Boss after I bought this one, but it was about $150 more.

After an hour on tech support, taking the thing apart, they acknowledged the auger motor was bad and they would send me one. This would be FANTASTIC if I had owned the grill for a year or so and the company was standing by their product... but to insist on sending me a part to a BRAND NEW GRILL and having me replace it...Unacceptable. When I asked for a new replacement hopper system (I get it ... things break... and I'm willing to meet them halfway) they said no... just the motor. I would have kept it had they allowed me to swap out the entire hopper system but I shouldn't have to do surgery on a brand new piece of equipment. Please don't buy this poorly made (China) piece of trash.

First of all, Pit Boss uses more sophisticated technology and offers a wide range of choices. It comes with features such as automatic startup and cools down systems, which will make grilling easier and make it possible even for the beginners. Then we have a digital control system, which uses LED display. It is similar to the Traeger models, but not entirely. Bought the smoker about 6 months ago - haven't started the gas grill since! I still have a propane smoker at the campground - going to try and sell that because we love the pit boss that much. We've smoked ribs, pork loin, prime rib, steaks, pizza and one of my favorites was smoked cheese. By turning up the"p"setting we were able to keep the temp down to around 80-95 degrees. We've smoked food in 90 temps all the way to 20 below zero it's no joke. Absolutely love the pit boss!

I sincerely hope that you and rj009 are correct and that this is an affordable pellet grill that will last for many, many years. However, until I see the real world longevity data, or an indication from Danson that they are willing to stand behind their products, then I am going to keep pointing folks to Green Mountain (2 year warranty), Camp Chef (3 year warranty) and Rec Tec (6 year warranty).
As far as clean-up goes, in my opinion, it is significantly easier to clean a pellet grill as apposed to like a traditional gas or charcoal option. On the Pit Boss options remove the grill grates, and then use a vacuum and the hose attachment to suck up the pellet dust, and clear the burner. The burner can sometimes get clogged so clearing that with the vacuum works nicely. After that it’s just a matter of grabbing a rag and wiping the grease from the grill.
